Give others hope

I live in Uptown Chicago where there are many homeless people. I have no idea what they have been through. Whether they have been homeless a day, a week, a month, or a year or more, I have no idea what's going on in their lives.

 I live in a home where there is safety. I have a nice bed, a family that lives close by, friends that live close by, a school, my parents have jobs, and an amazing community that makes good meals. These are things that we need in life and there are people sleeping in the cold or extremely hot weather and some sleep on the concrete where there is no comfortable place to rest their sore painful bodies.

 What I want us to do is make them know that we are here for them and give them hope for their future.

    Your words are so wise. Many people judge the homeless, yet they have "no idea about what is going on in their lives" that lead them to be homeless. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I don't care if people give me looks of disgust. I am proud to look different. Besides two hands, two legs, two feet, and so on are overrated. Still, you always will get those looks. Be Kind To Others

Some people think homeless people are violent. but most of the people I meet are so generous and loving. My dad (Jeremy Nicholls) and I walked under the bridge which was a place where a lot of homeless people went to sleep and get away from the bad weather. I loved going down there. Everybody was so kind to us. Sometimes when I go down to the bridge and they would just give me treats, pillows, and other things that you would think homeless people wouldn't give to me...FALSE! Some come up and give me big hugs. Most of the people under the Bridge are close friends. One very good friend of mine that lived down there but now he is housed😁😁😁😁😁😁!!! But it was his birthday and I made about 15 cookies for him he was extremely grateful and felt so loved by that. What I want you to know is that the homeless are kind loving people, so don't be rude to them because you are afraid for no important reason. So be kind to others! Prayer wins!

I have lived in a community for my whole life. My home knows so much about homelessness, racism, violence all over, and other terrible things. But I am thankful that I know all of these things. I want to pray for the people that are hurting inside from all the problems we have in this World. And I want to help those who need our shoulders to help them get back up. Some places that I have gone and they have no idea about how the homeless go to jail from using the bathroom on the street. They don't have a bathroom! What were they supposed to do?! Or right by my house, there was a place where the homeless slept under a bridge. Well, some people decided to kick them out of the bridge. To keep them out they put a biking path on both sides! Even though there is a biking path right by it! I don't know much about this world and its problems, but I'm glad that I know a good amount to pray for those who are struggling in their lives.         ...
